See, there is not much reference to this communication in the story books, (none, actually) but both statements from Arius and Constantine are true (insofar as the basic message beneath them- I don’t have historical record of coughing fits), so is the fact that Arius visited the city in an attempt to get reinstated, as well as the fact that he got what he wanted. Also, that bishop, who later becomes pope, was in fact exiled.
It’s just the way I would imagine a politically desperate Constantine would grab at a chance to make his ‘fancies’ more legitimate. Claiming that you are or are akin to Jesus would go down better if Jesus = more human than God, which is basically what Arius’ thing is.
Constantine's new capital offered an opportunity to a certain musically inclined man.
Arius: No, I don't give a damn about my bad excommunication!
Bystanders: It's Arius! It's Arius! Hooray! It's Arius.

Arius: Great Constantine, I give you thanks for you audience.
Constantine: Okay, what have you got for me?
Arius: I've been noticing all these religious artworks around the city... I find them very interesting.
'The Apostles' and 'Jesus.'
Constantine: Oh, do you? All the other bishops have coughing fits when they see them.
Arius: Well, I've got an argument that can support your fancy!
Constantine: You're hired!
Athanasius: Hey! That's not-
Constantine: Get out.
Athanasius, a bishop, was exiled.

New Posting Schedule

Due to… things, I will now only be updating once a week. It will be on Wednesdays, which will give me plenty of time to build up a buffer again. I’m hoping to switch back to a two per week schedule in the future, when things cool down. In the meantime I’ll be posting more sketches and works in progress on my art blog, including those involving a fairy-tale centered iphone-based comic that is in the works.

What’s this about hand-lettered narration?

As mentioned, we are switching to all-natural in our comic processs. This means that everything will be hand-lettered, because I was just getting so damned annoyed at the font looking like crap. And we won’t be leaving the first two chapters with that pixely blight. What we’re gonna do is this; get it all hand lettered, from the first page to the last, and release them as a self-published book when we have 80 - 100 pages.
