Finally, in the year 283, after 50 years of chaos... "What? Oh." The throne was claimed by Senator Caras, commander of the Praetorian guard. "If a man wants something done, he's gotta do it himself."
Caras appointed two men as advisors: LUCIUS FLAVIUS APER whose name means "wild boar" GAIUS VALERIUS DIOCLES whose name means "Zeus' glory"
Aper was the new commander of the Praetorian guard, and Diocles was appointed the head of the imperial guard. Both were ambitious men.
A seer once told Diocles that he would become emperor by killing a wild boar. "I speak the truuuuuth..."
To get closer to the emperor, Aper married his daughter to one of Caras' sons.
For Caras also had two sons: CORINUS more interested in chasing women than anything else. NUMERIAN more interested in verse than government.
