….Dum dum DUM!
I have been waiting to say that.
In other news, we are nearing the end of chapter two! It will be a shocker! … not really.
This new edict brought hope for peace to the Roman empire.
Christian 1: Nearly legal!
Christian 2: Praise be!
To solidify the regime, Licinius wed Constantine's daughter, Constantian.
Licinius: So, uh... Your dad named you, hunh?
The balance of power should have been simple, but there was a complication.
While he was still in Milan, Licinius received word that Daia (remember him?) had invaded Licinius' half of the west with 70,000 troops.
Licinius emulated Constantine by having his men fight under the Christian cross.
Legionary: He's got crosses on all the shields, sir.
Daia: That little suck up. I swear, if I win, crosses will be illegal.
It was such a defeat that Daia was required to escape in slave's garb.
Daia: Oh, the embarrassment!
But this is only the beginning of the tragedy that was Maximinus Daia.
